"A Significant Journey"
I first met Anastasia Gavalas at a Parent Meeting in 2005. She was the parent who spoke up for what she believed in for all children, not just her own. Anastasia's honesty and integrity were the first things I noticed in her. She has always been one of those people who can see the true souls of children.
Anastasia offered a workshop titled, "The Awakened Parent" a few years ago and I decided to attend one just out of curiosity. I never could have imagined how this workshop would shift me as a mother, but it did just that. It was Anastasia's ability to connect to all of us during that meeting; bringing us together as parents…bringing out of us the core of our journeys and helping to add to our children's journey in this lifetime.
I walked away that night realizing that being a mother was and always will be the most significant journey in this lifetime. Anastasia has the ability to help parents look inside of themselves and see the souls of their children…the truth of their relationships and remain focused on love and life's purpose.

I have had Anastasia do several parenting workshops at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton, NY and have always been extremely impressed with her professionalism and ease with parents and children alike. As a parent of five children herself, she is clearly well-equipped to advise others on the topic, but it is her genuine and sincere nature, along with her straightforward and simple advice that can readily be utilized in family interactions that make her contributions to the family department of the library so valuable. Many patrons have asked me to have Anastasia return to give more workshops, which I certainly plan to do!

"Becoming Mindful"
The most valuable part of Anastasia's training was that she taught us that students need to be looked at as natural and capable of becoming successful if we believe in them. The "I am from" activity was great and something I will use with my students. She has helped me to become more mindful that all students can become leaders. As educators, we need to point out their strengths and guide them in the right direction. Her enthusiasm and ideals are refreshing. More schools would benefit by adopting her mindset with everything that is going on in today's world.

When I first met Anastasia I only knew her as a devoted mother and active member in our community. After I had my own children I began to understand and appreciate the amazing resource she is. When I was overwhelmed as a first time mother of twins, Anastasia lovingly and compassionately spoke with me about nursing my children, sleep patterns, and about how to take care of ME. As my children got older and their brother was born, Anastasia guided me through the education process. Helping me navigate the strange world of nursery and preschool, she gave me the tools I needed to help my son with his unique learning style.
